The Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus of the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) invites applications for a full time position as
Junior Chair (W1) for Regenerative Oral Surgery and Implantology

The appointment is initially limited to 4 years. After a positive interim evaluation, the employment will be extended to a total of 6 years.

As Assistant Professor you will independently carry out research, education and clinical assignments (in German and if applicable in English) in Regenerative Oral Surgery as part of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. You have comprehensive knowledge in Dental-, Oralmedicine / Oral Surgery and in regenerative research of the related tissues in the oral and maxillofacial region. Ideally, you also have experience specifically in the histomorphological assessment of tissues regenerated through the use of biomaterials and modified biomaterials and about dental implants and teeth. Your research aims at regenerating the different types of tissue of the jaw area and particularly the jaw bone, and furthermore, at identifying pathogenetic factors that relate to tissue degeneration in the jaw and in other oral tissues. The professorship shall enhance and extend the translation of hard and soft tissue research into regenerative oral surgery / dental-, oral- and maxillo medicine at the UniversitätsZahnMedizin and at the Faculty of Medicine. As incumbent, you will assess scientific questions and results of tissue regeneration in dental implant surgery in regard to clinical translation. Requirement for clinical competency is the successful completion of the specialist qualification in oral and maxillofacial surgery or in oral surgery. An additional qualification in dental implantology is desirable.

We also welcome your particular willingness for teaching, in academic self-administration and in multidisciplinary research as well as in the application for third party funding. Professors with medical tasks are employed at the University Hospital Dresden with a non-pay-scale employment contract including a basic remuneration and a performance- and success-related compensation.

Prerequisites for employment according to § 63 SächsHSFG are a university degree in medicine / dentistry, a doctoral degree, a track record in teaching, proof of scientific excellence and a specialist qualification in oral and maxillofacial surgery or in oral surgery.
